Mum published my first story on Steller this week. Are any of you using this app? Mum is now basically addicted and Dad’s trying to figure out if there’s a way that her iPhone can be magically disappeared. Forever.
Anyway, Steller (deep breaths, deep breaths) republished the story within their Pets collection. Mum was very excited. When she told me, I was very excited. Then I had a moment. “Hang on,” I said, “what’s a pet?”
“It’s something you have when you’re a person, to love and cherish,” Mum said.
“You mean like Dad?” I asked.
Mum thought about this. “Not quite,” she said. “A pet would always be an animal, or a bird.”
Clearly, this wasn’t a good enough answer, so I turned to Google.
‘pet: noun 1/ a domestic or tamed animal or bird kept for companionship or pleasure.’
“Hang on,” I said. “Firstly, don’t be calling me tamed. Do I seem tamed? And secondly, I own you.”
Sometimes, you have to set the record straight with your humans. On Steller though, I’m perfectly chilled about being a ‘Pet’, especially a featured one… You can see the Steller story on ‘My September’ here.
